The Alvan Journal of Social Sciences (AJSS) invites scholars, researchers, and practitioners to submit original, high-quality, and multidisciplinary manuscripts for publication.

All submissions must be unpublished, not under consideration elsewhere, and must align with the journal’s aims and scope.

  • Font: Times New Roman, Size 12
  • Line spacing: 1.5
  • Alignment: Justified
  • Word count:Research Articles: 4,000 – 8,000 words
    Review Papers: up to 10,000 words

📚 Referencing Style

AJSS uses the APA (7th Edition) referencing style.

Authors must ensure:

  • All in-text citations appear in the reference list

GUIDELINES FOR MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION

1. Each manuscript must be original with a clear research focus and make a meaningful contribution(s) to knowledge. It must not exceed 7,000 words, including an abstract of 250 words, 5 keywords, and references.

2. Each manuscript must contain full author name, phone number, and e-mail address, written in Times New Roman, 12 font size and double line spacing in English Language with APA 7th Edition referencing style.

3. For clarity, manuscript may use four main sub-headings: Introduction and Literature Review, Material and Methods, Results & Discussion, Summary & Conclusion

4. Manuscript submission must be made electronically to alvanfass@gmail.com and FASSRD@alvanikoku.edu.org with a vetting fee of #5,000.00 naira or $7.

5. All manuscript will be subjected to plagiarism test and only those within the acceptable standard will be accepted for publication.

6. Every manuscript remains the sole property of the author(s). Therefore, any error of omission/ commission, litigation, or related legal actions, or reactions remains the sole responsibility/ responsibilities of the authors.

GUIDELINE FOR PAYMENT OF PROCESSING CHARGE

Manuscript submission must be made electronically to alvanfass@gmail.com and FASSRD@alvanikoku.edu.org

Step 1

A vetting fee of N5,000.00 or $7 must be paid for every manuscript and evidence forwarded to the official e-mail

Step 2

Following the review process, authors are required to remit a publication fee of thirty thousand naira (N30,000.00) for submissions originating within Nigeria and forty dollars ($40) for submissions from other countries for each accepted manuscript.

Step 3

All payments must be directed to FCMB Account Number: 1015643458 with Account Name: Research and Development Committee.

Peer Review Policy

The Alvan Journal of Social Sciences (AJSS) operates a rigorous double-blind peer review system designed to uphold academic integrity, scholarly quality, and ethical publishing standards.

All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial screening to assess relevance to the journal’s scope, originality, and compliance with submission guidelines. Manuscripts that meet these criteria are assigned to at least two independent expert reviewers in the relevant field.

In line with the double-blind review model, the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed throughout the review process. This ensures objectivity, eliminates bias, and promotes fair evaluation based solely on academic merit.

Reviewers are required to provide constructive, evidence-based feedback and make one of the following recommendations: Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject.

The review process typically takes 2–4 weeks, although this may vary depending on reviewer availability and the complexity of the manuscript.

Final publication decisions are made by the Editor-in-Chief based on reviewers’ reports, the manuscript’s scholarly contribution, and compliance with AJSS editorial standards.
